Movement & Breathing Exercises Designed To Relieve Chronic Pain & Post Traumatic Stress

When: Every Sunday beginning at 1:00PM for Four Consecutive Weeks

  • Sunday, June 7th First Class: 1:00 – 4:00PM
  • Sunday, June 14th from 1:00 – 3:00PM
  • Sunday, June 21st from 1:00 – 3:00PM
  • Sunday, June 28th from 1:00 – 3:00PM

Cost: $40 (for all four weeks).

Dress in loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat and a beginner’s mind.

Align Up ABQ is thrilled to announce a workshop with exercises specifically designed for veterans dealing with chronic pain, PTSD and any other emotional and physical hardships as they re-enter every day life. Come heal and thrive with other veterans facing the same thing, or who have faced it.

For someone with PTSD, it is especially effective to do physical exercises that let our brain know that we’re no longer in danger. There’s no trying to reason with the reptilian part of our brain because it senses its cues about our safety via the way we are breathing, our nervous system, and muscles that clench up when we deal with traumatic or challenging events but have never been shown how to release. This creates compounding involuntary tension (sometimes exponentially) over time.

Learn a grounding, relaxation circuit training that begins with Align Up’s Core Breathing Restoration and internal alignment sequences that relieve chronic pain, release fascia and build strength via relaxation leading up to the SHAKE (aka neurological tremoring).

Done gently over time, Align Up practices help us:

  • End or greatly reduce chronic pain.
  • Learn more about your body’s unique stress response. Gaining several tools at your disposal to use when you’re getting triggered and/or stressed out.
  • Lessen the intensity of emotional and Post Trauma triggers gently. They will have less and less power over you and your relationships.
  • Relax on a very deep level: feel like your old selves again, only maybe even better. You’ll be able to bounce back quicker from stressful or intense situations in general and you’ll be able to laugh and feel happy and more connected to people again—or perhaps even more than before the trauma.
  • Learn a new way to approach physical fitness and wellness that heals by centering around pleasure, taking its cues from your inspiration.

Though it takes time, the healing journey is a pleasurable one. You’ll feel like a huge load you didn’t realize you were carrying has been lifted after every practice. Over time, the intensity of your experiences will lessen in your body when you remember them.
